OUR HISTORY
BACKGROUND
For about 15 years Burlington Parks and Recreation Dept sponsored the "The Chaos Derby" at the Burlington waterfront. At its peak, the derby attracted 350 kids. The program ended when the position was eliminated. One of the event judges, Pete Thayer of Thayer Automotive felt strongly that the event should continue and could be improved. With an all-volunteer force, Pete set out to restore and improve the derby for kids.
2007 RESULTS
413 fish were weighted in and all were released. This included 353 perch, 30 smallmouth bass, 11 rock bass, 17 pumpkinseed, and 2 log perch.

2008 RESULTS
515 Anglers aged 2-14 registered
347 Anglers (67.4%) presented a fish for weigh-in
917 fish were recorded as caught with 885 (96.5%) released alive
815 Perch, 52 Bass, 12 Sunfish, 18 Pumpkinseed, 19 Rock Bass and 1 Rainbow Trout
2009 RESULTS
269 lucky angers weighed in 846 different fish. A total of 828 fish were released alive. There were 694 yellow perch, 71 smallmouth and largemouth bass, 24 rock bass and 57 sunfish and pumpkinseed fish caught.
1st place winners included a 2.04 lb smallmouth; a 1.72 lb smallmouth; and a 2.34 lb smallmouth bass. The 1st place winner in the 10-14 year old age group won a lifetime fishing license certificate.
